Budva Diving

Diving in Budva covers the Bay of Kotor, nearby islands and wreck sites, with shallow reefs (5–15m) suitable for beginners and deeper sites (25–40m) for qualified divers. Certification courses (PADI Open Water) cost €200–€300 and take 3–4 days. Single guided dives run €50–€80, and multi-dive packages offer discounts. Water visibility ranges 10–30m depending on season and weather; summer offers the clearest conditions. Water temperature is 15°C in winter, 24–27°C in summer, requiring a 3mm wetsuit year-round. Equipment rental is €10–€15 per item. Most dive operators depart from the Old Town harbour and cater to small groups (4–6 divers). Instructors are PADI-certified and speak English. Notable dive sites include a Byzantine church in shallow water near Perast and various underwater rock formations. Night dives are offered year-round. Beginners should book courses in advance; casual dives can be arranged same-day if weather permits. All operators carry emergency oxygen and insurance.
