Budva Beaches and the Riviera Coastline
Budva's beaches include long sandy stretches, sheltered pebble coves, organised clubs with sunbed hire and free public sections across the Riviera.
The Budva Riviera stretches roughly 21 kilometres from Jaz Beach in the north to Buljarica in the south, covering more than 30 named beaches. Slovenska Beach is the largest and most central — a 600-metre sandy strip running the length of the town's main promenade, backed by hotels and restaurants. Mogren Beach sits below the Old Town cliffs, split into two coves connected by a tunnel cut through the rock face. The walk from the Old Town gate to Mogren takes about five minutes along a cliffside path.
South of Budva, Bečići Beach is a long pebble-and-sand stretch that runs into Rafailovići, popular with families for its shallow water and lifeguard cover. Further along the coast, Kamenovo is a smaller pebble cove between Bečići and Pržno, accessible by a steep path from the road. Sveti Stefan beach — the pink-sand cove in front of the famous island — has a public section and a private section reserved for Aman resort guests.
Sunbed and umbrella rental is standard at most organised beaches, typically €10–€20 per set for the day depending on the beach and the row. Free sections exist on every public beach for those bringing their own towels. The water is warm enough for swimming from late May into early October, reaching around 25°C in August. Several beaches have Blue Flag status. Beach bars operate at most major spots, and parking is available at Jaz, Bečići and Slovenska though it fills early in July and August.
