The operator was set up by Marat Guelman, formerly a Moscow-based gallerist who relocated to Montenegro, and trades alongside the alternative "Dukley European Art Community" name on its public-facing channels.

The programme covers rotating exhibitions in the gallery space and a residency that brings international artists to the Zavala campus for working stays. A pedestrian tunnel into the complex carries commissioned street-art works as part of the operator's public-facing art programme.
