The site is accessible via an uphill walking route requiring approximately fifteen minutes of continuous uphill travel from the centre of Budva. The monastery compound contains two distinct churches serving different liturgical functions. The lower church is the older structure, dating to the fifteenth century with original interior frescoes still partially visible despite considerable age. The upper church underwent reconstruction following a destructive fire event in 1995, with new interior frescoes completed during the early 2000s. The monastery remains an active religious community with monks in permanent residence within the compound.
