The complex carries three churches: the oldest Dormition of the Mother of God founded in 1226 by King Stefan the First-Crowned of the Nemanjić dynasty, the Church of Archdeacon Stephen built in 1351 under Stefan Uroš IV Dušan and rebuilt by Dimitrije Perazić after the 1785 demolition by Mahmut Bushati, and the larger Holy Trinity church added in 1770.
