The complex carries three churches: the oldest Dormition of the Mother of God founded in 1226 by King Stefan the First-Crowned of the Nemanjić dynasty, the Church of Archdeacon Stephen built in 1351 under Stefan Uroš IV Dušan and rebuilt by Dimitrije Perazić after the 1785 demolition by Mahmut Bushati, and the larger Holy Trinity church added in 1770.

A stone column once stood at the guesthouse on the Budva-Petrovac road carrying a wine vessel kept full for thirsty travellers, with the Paštrovići population maintaining the supply through the mid-19th century as a token of hospitality, a custom legend ties to Stefan the First-Crowned himself. The Dormition church preserves early-17th-century frescoes attributed to Strahinja of Budimlje with surviving 18th-century remnants, and its iconostasis was painted by Aleksije Lazović in 1833. The monastery served as a Paštrovići assembly site for electing chieftains and sits a steep footpath descent above Perazića Do bay.
