Будва Sandy

Sandy beaches in Budva and the surrounding Riviera are less common than pebble coves, but a few stretches offer fine sand and gradually sloping seabeds, popular with families and swimmers. Jaz Beach is the longest sandy beach east of Budva, with a 2km stretch popular for volleyball and water sports. Buljarica, further south, has a quieter sandy bay backed by pine trees and mountain views. Sand temperatures can reach 40°C in midsummer; water shoes or beach sandals are advisable. Sandy beaches lack the dramatic rock backdrops of pebble coves but offer easier swimming for young children. Sunbed and parasol rentals (€5–€15/day) are available at developed beaches. Smaller sandy inlets exist around Sveti Stefan and near Petrovac, often accessible only by boat or short hikes. Parking is usually free or €1–€2 near main beaches. Most sandy beaches have beach bars, showers and toilets. Wind can make some sandy beaches uncomfortably warm; evening visits (after 18:00) are more pleasant.
